The London Road holds a special place in the hearts of Oxford Utd fans. As a young boy I would gaze upon the packed terraces from the Beech Road Stand with a sense of awe as the noise intensified towards kick off. Once old enough see over the heads of other fans I took my place on the left side and my love of the club was cemented. Packed in like sardines on a Tuesday night, under the blaze of the floodlights, this was 'real football' that created an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in todays modern stadiums. This is the feeling I have tried to capture in this piece and hope it brings back fond memories.
